yes I know I am not an examiner but I thought I would try it out for a day... sad I know lol. Well within my lesson, we was given different videos to watch and a mark scheme with an aim to mark the different thrillers. I watched the productions and made a verdict on what grade they should of been awarded. Within my class, we awarded the thrillers much lower than the grade they actually was given. This was a surprise to us all and made us much confident on the grade we may get when producing our own film.
When given a level 4 (the highest grade) these are some of the aims the examiners are expected to see:
- material appropriate for the target audience task
- using titles appropriately according to institutional conventions
- using sound with images and editing appropriately for the tasks set
- shooting material appropaite to the task set, including controlled use of the camera, attention to framing, vartiety of shot distance and close attention to mise-en-scene

We awarded this clip the same grade that it was given, this was because the sound effects was at a high standard and so was he images. Also the material given within the production was appropriate meaning the audience was gripped to the storyline. This was a great piece.
This different clip wasn't up to the same standard that the level 4 production was. The clip was still awarded a high mark which was surprising as it didn't have the best shots, control of camera or sound and images. This clip was awarded a level 2
